XTSC Rules & Regulations

Conduct

XTSC offers Recreational Sports Leagues for Everyday players. First and foremost, the purpose is to enjoy the sport, exercise and have fun! Anyone who takes the game far too seriously and whose behavior delves into Unsportsmanlike Conduct, risking the enjoyment of others in the game and the league, will be at risk of being ejected from the league.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct (i.e. swearing, threatening, taunting (including excessive cheering following a goal), aggressive physical behavior, etc.) will not be tolerated by XTSC. If you are witness or subject to such conduct please file a report with an XTSC staff member. Red cards are considered to be a report and all red-card incidents are reviewed by the league to determine if further action is required beyond the one-week suspension. If reports are filed, at minimum the following will take place:

a. Players/ teams will receive a verbal warning for their behavior.

b. If there is a second report written warning will be issued to the player/ team.

c. With a third report the player/ team will be ejected from the league without a refund. They will also not be permitted to play in any future leagues or events.

The league reserves the right to accelerate this process if the situation merits it.

Physical Violence, the threat of physical violence, or implied physical violence will result in immediate ejection from the league. This applies if you start it or decide to end it with violence. Walk Away.

Alcohol

Alcohol is not permitted under any circumstances while playing games or on facility grounds, unless they are licensed to serve alcohol and it is being served to you. Drinking and playing will result in immediate ejection from the league.

XTSC Representatives

XTSC endeavours to provide a league representative for each and every game we host. Unfortunately, due to unavoidable, emergency circumstances, occasionally a representative is not able to reach their assigned game. If that is the case, the game will be rescheduled to another night and time. We are not able to guarantee that the game will take place during a regular league night. XTSC is not responsible for and does not endorse any activities or choices members make while representatives are not present.

Facilities

There are no washroom or change facilities available at any outdoor locations. Urinating on school property is strictly forbidden and may result in charges being filed.

Facilities must be treated with respect (i.e. wearing non-marking shoes, no littering, intentional damage or temper tantrums, putting things back were they belong, no glass containers in or around the play area, etc.) Players/teams are responsible for any damage they do. Failure of this will result in a written warning not excluding possible ejection from the league.

Any player or team whose actions directly lead to the league losing the permit for a facility will immediately be ejected from the league without a refund.

Injuries

First Aid kits are onsite at most games with a XTSC staff member. Please be advised that these are for minor injuries only, for serious injuries call an Ambulance and notify the onsite staff member.

Bleeding in game areas is not allowed. If you get a cut you must exit the game until the bleeding has stopped or you have bandaged the wound.

Please remember that sports are considered inherently risky behaviour and as a result XTSC cannot be held responsible for the cost of treatment or recovery from any injuries that result from playing sports or being present in an area where sports are being played. If you have any pre-existing conditions (including, but not limited to, heart conditions, severe asthma, or if you are pregnant) please take the appropriate cautions and consult a physician before attending any games. We encourage all players to honestly evaluate their physical condition before participating in recreational sports leagues or any other strenuous activity.

Equipment

Clothing is required in the league - both top and bottom for all genders. If you are playing Ultimate, Hockey, Flag Football or Soccer you must bring a light and dark top for team recognition. If you are playing an indoor sport, you must wear shoes with non-marking soles. Hockey players must provide their own white plastic-bladed sticks.

Jewellery that has sharp or pointed areas must come off before game play. Other jewellery (i.e. wedding band, necklace, etc.) is not advised due to loss and potential damage.

Medical devices that are worn during game play (braces, casts, etc) that have any sharp or rough edges must be covered by protective material (bandage, long sleeved shirt, sweatpants, etc) for the protection of the other players. Any braces that are deemed unsafe by the official and are not covered must be removed from the field of play.

Metal cleats and metal toed shoes are not permitted in any XTSC games.

Waivers

Waivers must be filled out by everyone playing in the league. Members will not be allowed to play until they have filled out and signed a waiver. If you have an alternate player that has not filled one out they are available at the game (see onsite staff member) or as an attachment to the initial league information that is sent out one week before the league starts.

All team captains must collect all of their team's waiver forms prior to the beginning of the season. Once the team captain has collected all of these waivers he/she will e-mail or fax all of the completed waivers to XTSC. These waiver forms can be e-mailed to info@xtsc.ca or faxed to 416.221.5898. Please do not send in individual waiver forms. If your team has not sent in all their completed waiver forms by the given deadline your team will not be put on the schedule.

Weather

Weather may effect some outdoor games. If lightning begins during a game take shelter for 10-15 minutes. If the lightning continues, the game ends using the score from the time at which the game stopped. Games will normally only be called at the game location and time.

Unless previously contacted by the league, a sufficient number of team members (minimum 4, with at least one of each gender) must be on the field within 10 minutes of the game start time to avoid being awarded a default loss, regardless of the weather. If team members are not present at the field and remain in their car, etc, they will not be considered to be present as the referee will not be able to ascertain the true number of players and a default loss will be awarded.

As seasons are tightly scheduled, games will not be rescheduled when called as a result of inclement weather.

Games are not called for inclement winter weather for indoor leagues unless the venue has been closed. If that is the case, league members will be contacted by an XTSC representative.

Substitute Eligibility

Free Agent teams cannot invite other players to their games unless the other player registers with the league and pays on-line before they play their first game. Any Free Agents members who invite additional players (beyond replacing themselves) to their games will be ejected from the league, as such behavior impacts the playing time and enjoyment of the other members of the team. Any games that are played with non-registered players will be an automatic default. Spot-checks will be performed by XTSC reps to ensure that there are no non-registered players in the game. Free Agents will be issued a wristband at the beginning of their season, which they must have with them at every XTSC game. If they are not able to attend their game, they may lend their wristband to someone of the same gender to play for them that week. If this person is not already and XTSC member, they will need to sign a waiver form and bring it to the game to give the on-site rep. Substitutes without a wristband will not be allowed to play, and the XTSC member who lent the band will need to make arrangements to get it back before the next game that they are able to make.

Teams cannot borrow players from another team in their night without express permission from the opposing team's captain. If it is allowed, they may only borrow enough players to field a full side and have a single sub of each gender. If it is not allowed and the "borrowed" players participate, the game will be defaulted.

Players must be roster members of the team they are playing on to be eligible to participate in playoffs or tournaments. To be considered a roster member, the player must have participated in at least two regular season games and have a previously signed waiver form. If they do not and still play, the game will be defaulted. In weekend tournaments, up to two substitutions from any source are allowed, as long as the total number of players coming to the tournament is no greater than 8 and the other members are regular roster members.

Minimum Players

For our 6v6 and 7v7 leagues, there must be 2 female players on the field at all times. For our 11v11 leagues, you need at least 3 females on the field at all times. If your team does not reach the minimum number of females required, you will be forced to play one or two players down. If you have ZERO females, then it will be a default victory unless the opposing team agrees to play the game.

Payment Policy

Registration fees must be paid on-line on the website using Visa or Mastercard before a member will be placed on the schedule. Applications for registration that are placed without a payment being made are not considered to be finalized and those players/teams will not be placed in the system or allowed to play until payment is made via the website.

XTSC Points

After every team or player registration, that person accummulates XTSC points into their account that can be used for future registrations or items from our online store. However, these points do not last forever. After 2 years of inactivity, these points expire and will be deleted from your account.

Refund Policy

  • Full credit will be given for cancellations that take place at least two weeks before the start of season.
  • A 75% refund will be given from two weeks before the start of the season to the season's starting date.
  • A 50% refund will be given from the starting date to the second week of the season.
  • Following the second week of the season, no refund will be given.
  • Refunds are not given to individuals or teams ejected from the league for any reason, irregardless of when in their membership term they are ejected.
  • Combo season registrations will only be considered for refund at the beginning of the first season for which the registration is valid. The second season is considered an extension of the first, and therefore is not eligible for refund.
